Outdated websites that suffer from cluttered layouts, inconsistent design elements, and non-responsive elements that fail to adapt to modern devices. They lacked in accessibility, poor color contrast, no screen reader support, and mark-up issues. Additionally, the development process for the onboarding team is notably sluggish. With long delays between updates and a clear absence of streamlined workflows resulting in a stagnant user experience and poor maintainability.
Modern Design
Over time design trends, user expectations, and technology evolve, and a site that once seemed cutting-edge can quickly feel stale or hard to navigate. To bring our websites up to date, we started by conducting a thorough audit of its current design and functionality. Identify key areas where user experience can be enhanced such as mobile optimization, streamlining navigation, improving load times, and incorporating innovative design trends to bring a fresh, modern aesthetic to the financial industry.
Customization
Every client is different, so we needed to provide a solution that give each site an individual feel while still allowing for a fast and simple setup. We created several different themes to make for a great starting point, allowing for quicker turn around times while still giving advisors a unique look and feel.
Branding & Global
After theme selections, items such as colors, typography, layout spacing, and common styling is easily set up with global variables and consistent code standards.
Components
With a competent based system, it's easy to move items and sections around to build the site of our advisors needs. Documentation with previews and code snippets ready to copy and paste streamlined building for the team.
Accessibility
In the financial industry, accessibility is not just a regulatory requirement; it's essential for ensuring equal access to financial services for all users. This includes features like keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and color contrast adjustments. To achieve this we created accessible mark-up and built in functions to help when non-developers or accessibility experts are building sites.
Ease of Construction
Given that the product would be used by the onboarding team and non-technical professionals, I focused on creating an intuitive process for the team to build a site. By providing detailed documentation along with prebuilt components, sections, themes, and accessibility helpers, I streamlined and accelerated the onboarding process.
